Just one of those days

Oh brother, here we go again, our song for Cat...goodbye my friend. It really was a blessing to be with my fellow neophytes. (Even if Cat did miss her flight, hopefully not because for our 'pressed for time' gimik, but that hasn't stopped us before ey?) You can't help but miss rachel's constant rambling about her ever politically exciting life. (I meant that in a good way Rach) But hey, if I were 24 hours around senators, mayors and the like, who could blame her? At least some of us are in that certain spotlight and not enclosed in office poison that every breath you take seems to be always your last. But never mind how I feel! Back to our gimik night.

It's always so pleasant meeting and just talking about the past and of course, the present developments...such as "anong sabi mo, uy?" and the presently popular, "head ako noh!?". Yes, I do sense that there will be more to come. Just as God needed 7 days to create the world. We definitely have a long way to go when it comes to bashing. We're not saying we're perfect, of course not! I'm just implying we're not like other people. We're always going to be special. Case closed.

I recently attended an orientation to go to HBS ( Harvard Business School) Why? I don't have the faintest idea, I know I don't have $50,000 to shell out for tuition fee plus board and lodging and where the heck am I going to get pocket money? but here's what I learned. That it is certainly better to become a big fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a big pond. (as we neophytes have always known courtesy of Sir) It's not about who you worked for or the number of years you worked for them but rather the quality of work that you've done during your stay. The person that was giving the talk stressed on that quite a bit. Non discriminating huh?

Don't you just hate it when everything is under your very nose and it took you like almost a lifetime to recognize it. It's not about the money (although it always seems to be the case). It's not about the companies prestige. It's always going to be about you and what you did. I guess it really doesn't hurt to be a small fish in a big pond either because once you've struggled and finally become the king of the sea, it's rewards would definitely be endless. But when that happens though, the question that I'm most scared to answer is "how many heads did you have to step on in order to get to where you are now?" Aint life just grand?

The Neophytes grow up

I'm kind of having mixed emotions with regard to what is happening to SAI at the moment. My first job. We came a long way. I can't believe it's over, it's like I never left. Imagine my one year and seven month rendezvous with Staff Alliance all fit in a simple beauty bar cardboard box neatly stored at a corner of my bay window, where is has always been since the day I brought it home. I just recently rummaged through all the stuff that's been there.

All the memories. It's of course covered in dust now especially my pencil case. But my free and now expired dolfenal is still there including those free notebooks we always get courtesy of Jeff and Therapharma of course. There really isn't much there though, Van's angel gift for Christmas, the pink glass rose she gave during her last day. There's even a calendar of Loren (rach's souvenir) And of course, my trusty steno notebook that kept all the info of my beloved (Amapola Balbuena, Sandra Ling, Dang Cruz) and some not so beloved quite irritating (Rafael Hofilena, Isidro Villaraza, Margarita Pablo Juni) staff.

Pretty much that notebook was the only thing that was so orderly about me and I have my fellow neophytes to attest to that. I guess the reason why that box is still where it is right now because I'm very much still apart of SAI. It was able to mold me to who I am today. It's apart of who I am.

What I remember the most...

Those occasional bickerings with Summer, the laughs during CR breaks...porkchop ni Issa...bbq ni RCS...ang lumpia sa jolly jeep with suka of course...those saucy lunches at Claudette's...that glorious busog day at Dad's during training

RCS's favorite blue slacks (favorite ko pala yun)...the disco gimmicks until the wee hours of the morning...that reggae gimmick that found ourselves at Chowking...the overnights at my house and at Bulacan...yes that videoke night as well...the sleepless night at Laguna (with the exception of me and RCS)...

Cat and her boylets...Summer and her Marcam and of course si "look into my ...pupils nalang"(he,he,he dami mong papa ha!)...

my last outing at villa escudero and the pics that go with it remember??...that enchanted day...everytime we have picture takings...

Ms Gina's "iyakan and hagulgol" last day when it seemed to be literally the end of the world only to find out it was just the beginning and of course then came roger's turn...

Si Summer and her "pwede ko bang makausap si Hanni?...Bal?(sorry, i'll never forget that! that's a classic!)...my udlot na resignation...Summer's dramatic weight loss( hmm...ang bruha pumapayat...is it because you know )...our bahingan blues during the cold weather (typical "summer" virus)...

Mga nakakakilabot na kwento ni rogelio about his nightcapades..si Cat and si Papang...Si Summer at si...huwag nalang kaya...change topic =)...

Iyakan blues with Sir...this is kind of a sensitive topic...naiiyak nanaman ako

The neophyte profiles:

Summer- once upon a time maka Jeffrey
- sustained forever: haaaaaa? anohhh?helowww?
- ''Summer, ang gulo ng buhok mo", Summer: "Paki alam mo?"

Cat - Sumama kay Jeffrey for 1 night only tax free na staff ko na crush ni Summer na uhugin na classmate ni roge (that's so hard ha!)
- That Fuji Love affair and Jonathan's slave
- dancing queen ng SAI ( kaso inagawan ng trono ni Det but since nagresign ang lola mo, she now regains the throne!)

Rachel - Noon: The tan stockings and of course those blue slacks!
- the rate card queen and ang katapat ng accounting...(let's not mention names)
- Ngayon: dakilang alalay ni Ma'am look a like

Hazel - Wala! I made this so wala!!!!!!!!!!!! sige na nga, Baliw ok?! Ako na ang dakilang Baliw! Whatever!

And one of our partners in crime:

Rogelio - I really can't pinpoint anything but I hope these simple words may enlighten us all

- ites!
- naman!
- imotera ang lola mo!
- okray!
- ni!
- pasaway!
- masasaktan!
- palaban!

And all the other new found words all of us learned ... Syet I love you Roge!

Now is a different story altogether... someone's leaving us and not to resign but this time to go far far away, to the often chartered waters miles away from here.

There will be no more late night dancing clubs, no more videoke bars that would ever remain the same. Here though that is, but at Cebu, pucha wala! Mashoshock ang mga lola mo kay Cat. I swear! So Cat, whatever fine mess you land yourself into, I'm sure you know that we're definitely going to miss you.

TrAp EqUaLs WoRk..

As if you didn't know...Hold your horses! It aint over till the fat woman sings! And here we go again... start ranting! clutch on to your sanity and stop those nasty recollections of could'ves and wouldv'es. It aint helping anyone.

Yes I'm seriously SICK of this job and I am getting some pretty good vibes that I'm not the only one. Let's sing for a sec...where, where do we go from here...it's not exactly clear...oh,oh oh...whatever, wherever, whenever.... doo bee doo bee doo...

Yes I'm sick and getting weird as well, what a combination....

Let us reel at the fact that I am not alone, that we are not alone in this universe. Life can make its way into the earths protective layer and eat up the lives of those who refuse to believe in them...refuse and you die, accept and you die a little everyday. The same old goal.

For a few measly hours of paid labor a day, you sell yourself short, shutting your system out of being anymore of the person you really are, pushing you to conform to rules dictated by people whom also need you to retain their uncompromising position and your left in the middle of the battlefield. And what do you mean to them? NOTHING! Your just a means to an end, part of the workforce, the working ant...easily stomped on if they willed it. Depressed yet???
