I'm back!

Yes, I am here. Standing on firm ground never felt so good especially after a 17 hour flight. That was LONG with matching turbulence and air pockets. Sheech! Anyhow, comments on California, contrary to popular belief, it isn't always sunny in California. During winter it is cold especially at night and a bit rainy as well. If Seattle is brimming with tall pine trees, palm trees are the in thing in LA. The landscape there is amazing, you can see the mountain ranges from the freeway combined with the palm trees and the city it seems so unreal and yet beautiful at the same time. I guess people there have gotten used to it so they kinda don't appreciate it anymore. I had a connecting flight in phoenix, Arizona which had amazing mountains and hills as well, it was all red and natural and beautiful. Of course there's not much to do there from my point of view but just looking at the landscape for just a while was enough to make me smile.
The food in California or even in Washington wasn't what I had expected. Flavor was a bit lacking. Like when we ate at in and out burger, it was supposed to be the best burger place there but I'd beg to differ. I'd still choose brothers burger over that anytime. The only difference of the in and out burger among all the rest was that it has thousand island dressing on it and that's just about it. The best that I've tasted was the krispy kreme donuts (no comparison here) and the kung pao chicken ( I could try to mimic it if I had the correct ingredients, what I remember is that it had water chestnuts and peanuts or cashew nuts) we had at KC's house. That was good. Real good. All the rest I can easily find here in good old manila and it would definitely taste better for some apparent reason. When we went to Washington, we were advised of the best places to eat which we did go to so I know what I'm talking about. Money was not an issue in Washington, although in California it was.
Speaking of California, I was able to go to Magic Mountain which was great! Although my head hurt from all the banging on the headrest so I felt I was continuously spinning after each ride I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. Yup it was a fun vacation, free from all the calls and the irates and all the other species but I am still happy to be finally back. Very happy.

Almost home

Yes friends, This is my second week in the so called place which is also known as the land of opportunity. Whatever. They don't have my trusty bagoong and those to die for indian mangoes with matching hot rice and kare kare sauce so I DON'T CARE. It's still as cold as ever, I've been extremely missing rice ( I've never eaten so many potatoes in my whole adolescent life and I happen to love potatoes), I can feel myself gaining weight a bit (scared ako) and just my luck, training is about to start. A little side track story about the good old state of Washington, the Evergreen state I believe, there are tons of pine trees EVERYWHERE so at times it does remind me of Christmas, It's cold and rainy pretty much all the time and the seafoods good. Still, they don't have bagoong.
